With renewed energy, Lucinda quickly got out of bed and went to shower.
Regardless of Kyson’s intentions, it would bring her joy to see Sonny.
She skipped the makeup routine. She just descended the stairs bare- faced, wearing a white coat.

The small window on the iron door of the cell opened.
Through the window, Lucinda caught sight of Sonny hanging by a rope, his body drenched in blood.
He appeared to be in a semi-conscious state and looked weak and fragile.
“You are such an animal, Kyson!”
Tears welled up in her eyes. She raised her hand, wanting to slap him, but he tightly gripped her wrist.
“It’s just a few lashes. He won’t die just yet. But it appears that you care more about Nathan’s henchmen than you care about me. And it breaks my heart!”
He gritted his teeth, his last words laced with anger.
“Don’t feel like I don’t know what you’re up to. You’re still looking for ways to steal the serum before the wedding. If you don’t get married to me, I won’t keep my promise! And if you try any tricks, I’ll pour sulfuric acid on Sonny and subject him to the same torture Nathan inflicted on me!”
Kyson loosened his grip on her wrist, avoiding an outburst due to her pregnancy.
